Melanistic Mutant Pheasant

So awhile back I noticed when I came home my dogs were a bit more eager to go outside then usual. I looked outside before letting them out and this is what I saw. It was amazing! I had never seen a bird like this before. Let me remind you that I live in the heart of Hollywood between two busy streets. This bird was not supposed to be here. Where did it come from? I still have no idea. However, I researched the bird and found out it was a Melanistic Mutant Pheasant. It was beautiful.

My Process

1) Materials: Cutting Board, Soft Gloss hp Photo Paper, X-acto Knife, Canvas, Brushes, Palette Paper, Acrylic Paint

2) Choose Your Image: I chose an image of my good friend and her cat. Next print out the picture on the hp photo paper.

3) Use your x-acto knife to cut the stencil. I usually cut out detail first, since it's more delicate, then I cut out the bigger parts.

4) Once you've finished your stencil draw it on the canvas with a pencil. Then paint the basic shapes in the image, as well as any shading you'd like to do.

5) Once the paint is dry apply your stencil over the image and paint it. I usually use black, unless the colors I chose were darker I'd use white. Next paint your background. I like to paint the basic shapes over the lines. Once I apply the stencil and have that painted I can go back and refine the shapes if I'd like when I paint the background.

6) The Final Product

TEAM COCO

Today was really fun. My boyfriend, his mom, aunt, and I went to go see a Conan taping. Seth Rogen was one of the guests. I love Freaks and Geeks! I saw James Franco show his favorite episodes of Freaks and Geeks at MOMA in San Francisco. Now I can say I have seen two people from Freaks and Geeks. Jon Cryer was a surprise guest. I better know him as Duckie from Pretty in Pink. I didn't expect to be so tired after today, but a lot goes into tapings. I have wanted to see Conan for a long time and can now cross that off my 24 before 24 list.

Not So New News

This is awesome. The Walking Dead graphic novel's by Robert Kirkman have been really fun to read. I have blown through the first few volumes because I must know more. If you're into zombies and great character development you will like this. I have greatly enjoyed it so far. I recommend!

::Around the Neighborhood::

We took Tiny on a long walk today

We stopped to get delicious bagel sandwiches from Sam's Bagels

Tiny is always a big hit when we take her out

People always need to pet her

Today was a beautiful day after all the strange weather we've been having

Meep got out for a bit too, but she isn't an outdoor cat yet so she was on a leash
